Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Greeting and lead-in
Offer students some funny pictures that make them laugh.
Have students work in pairs and discuss the following questions:
(1) Do you think laughter is good for us? Why?
(2) What kind of things can make you laugh?
Step 2 Welcome to the unit
Lead students to focusing on the four pictures in the textbook, and let them get further information by means of setting types of questions.
Step 3 Discussion
Having introduced some kinds of others which can make people laugh, ask students to discuss these questions:
Which is the funniest? Why?
Who is your favorite comedian?
Why do you like him or her?
Why do people like funny things?
Step 4 Competition
Students are organized to read the tongue twister on the screen within three minutes, and then they will choose one representative from the group of themselves for the competition. Those who read fluently will get awards.
