And during the process of language practice, I create four types of exercises. First, choose words to fill blanks and choose alternative phrases. Second, give the half sentence patterns, and write the next half sentences. Third, according to the pictures, use the phrase “make up” to make up a sentence. Fourth, think out a short passage about your favorite and try to use phrases we have learned as many as possible.

Ⅱ. Analysis of Students

Considering students age and their cognitive level, I create many life situations, such as Zhaowei, the video of tang bohu, Germany football team, and school headmaster Mr. Wang, to reduce the difficulty of the language points, help them talk with classmates, inspire them to be active in the discussion, and express their opinions in class.

Ⅲ.Teaching Objectives

By the end of the class, students are able to :

Instructional objective:

Grasp the seven phrases in the text and apply them to daily usage.

Educational objective:

Use all together 16 phrases and sentence patterns to composition writing.

Personal objective:

Understand that laughter is good for our health and try to be optimistic to surroundings and daily life.

Situation teaching, group discussion and language practice

Ⅵ.Teaching Procedures

Step 1: Lead- in

Look at the title and think out two meanings of the title “stand up for your health”.

Review the passage by talking about the structure and the general idea with a table form.

Step 2: Language focus

Task 1: grasp the phrase “stand up for ” by watching the pictures Zhou Xingchi. Then, talk about the opinions towards Zhou xingchi.

Task 2: show the phrase “a variety of , be popular with , come up with

” and practice the related exercises.

Task 3: show the phrase “make up” and encourage students to guess its five usages in sentences. Then , describe three pictures with phrase “make up”.

Task 4: show the sentence pattern ”whatever……” and “after all ”. Then practice their usages.
