《Word power: Words used in performing》公开课教案优质课下载
Recognized as the King of Comedy, he won great affection both from academy and audience. Early silent short films allowed very little chance for technical help but physical comedy, and Chaplin was well-known for it.
Chaplin always came up with a variety of ideas to attract the audience’s attention, mainly relied on visual humor, for example, using a hammer to break one’s head, tripping over chairs and making fun of others. The audience had affection for that and howled with laughter.
Although Chaplin is of the silent movie era, we see his achievements carried through in the film of today. When Chaplin passed away in 1977, millions of his fans around the world mourned his death.

The British Sense of Humour
The British are known for their sense of humour. However, it’s often difficult for foreigners to understand their jokes. The main thing to remember is that the British like to make fun of themselves and others. They also like to make jokes about situations that are quite serious.
The British always say less than you think or feel. For example, if someone gets very wet in a rain, he might say, ‘It’s a little wet outside’. Or, if someone is very strong and keeps a good shape, someone else might say, ‘He needs to participate in sports and strengthen his muscle to stay fit’. Finally, the British love to watch comedies about people who don’t know how to behave in society. The comedy programme Mr. Bean is a good example of this kind of hummour.
Mr. Bean almost never talks, and instead uses foolish body movements and the expressions on his face to make people laugh. Mr. Bean is popular round the world because you don’t have to speak English to understand the humour. Because of this, it can guarantee that foreigners will better understand the British sense of humour.
