Step1. Lead-in
Show them a short video of the Academy Award this year and lead them to find out different
feelings of the people in the video.
Step2. Words to express emotions: noun form
1. Group work
Encourage students to think of more words which share the same meaning with the emotional words given in groups of four.
2. Show students all the words in different categories and add more words expressing the emotions in daily life.
3. Help students describe the pictures with the words (The more, the better).
Step3. Words to express emotions: adjective form
1. Hand out the worksheets and ask students to transfer the noun form into adjective form.
2. Check the words together and remind students to pay attention to the features of the suffixes.
3. Practice
Fit the situation with proper emotions (try to encourage more students to be involved and different answers are accepted) and finish the reading comprehension selected from college entrance examination.
