Teaching procedures:
step 1 Lead in
Watch a video and think about three questions:
Where did the story happen?
How did the British man feel?
What caused this?
Step 2 Skimming
Read through the text quickly and get the answer of the questions:
How many people are involved in this conversation?
Who are they? Where are they from?
Step 3 Scanning
Scan the text and tick out the topics mentioned in the text.
Step 4 Careful reading
Read five examples one by one carefully and finish the tasks.

Answer the question :
What will a westerner do when he receives a present? Why?
Example 2
Read and pay attention to the differences between a Korean wedding ceremony and a Brunei one.
Example 3
Judge the different pointing gestures by looking at the pictures.
