According to the analysis of the teaching material and the students’ learning ability, I will use the following methods .
Second, let me talk about the teaching methods.
The main instructional aims of learning English is to develop the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. So, I will apply it to use in this class. The former of the class is a “scene — activity” teaching method .It establishes a real scene and the interaction between the teacher and the students . The latter of the class offers the students an opportunity to complete the tasks in which students use language to achieve a specific outcome.
Third, I will show you the teaching procedures.
Step1: Greetings
Greet the whole class as usual.
Step 2: Lead-in
1. Show students some pictures of famous stars who are Goodwill Ambassadors
2. Present more pictures related to the UN to arouse students’ interest
Step 3: Fast Reading
Have students go through the first paragraph to get the answer to the question of what the UN is.
Step 4: Intensive Reading
Ask students to read the rest parts of the passage to fill in the chart.
Step 5: Consolidation
Ask students some questions based on the pictures to check if they have grasped the important information.
Step 6: Discussion
1. Divide the students into several groups to have a short discussion to practise their oral English.
2. Give some minutes to students to get prepared and then present their opinions
Step 7: Homework
Do oral practice on P53.
Last but not least, I will talk about the blackboard design.
