Nowadays, the phone plays an important role in daily life. More and more people feel that they can’t live without it. Teenagers are no exception. Some of them are addicted to phones so that they bring their phones wherever they are, even in the class. However, many high schools take measures to forbid the use of phones on campus. Certainly, it is doubtful whether it is reasonable to do so. This part is designed to instruct students how to express their opinions on the usage of phones on campus. As they have learnt the project which talks about the advantages and disadvantages of phones, it is not that difficult for them to imitate how to express their opinions with supporting details.
Teaching objectives:
At the end of this period, students will be able to
express their opinions with certain supporting details;
organize their views with a logical structure by using linking words;
evaluate others’ and their own writings with the help of evaluation form;
realize the disadvantages of phone and make full use of its advantages in daily life.

3. Share Students some pictures and ask them the following questions.
1) What are they doing?
2) What do you think of their behavior?
3) Do you agree that students are forbidden to use phones on high school campus? To start a new topic with an old relative one which students are quite familiar with.
To arouse students’ interest in the topic and encourage them to think over the bad phenomenon that students use their cell phones for entertainment in class.Step 2: Pre-writingHave Ss do a questionnaire ‘To phone or not to phone on high school campus’ with the cardboards.
Instruct Ss to support their viewpoints by giving supporting details.
To create a rather relaxing environment for students to speak out their own opinions.
To set examples for students to learn how to support their opinions.
To accumulate enough viewpoints and details for students to write in the following part. Step 3: While-writingAsk Ss to talk about the writing structure of a report.
2. Divide the whole class into several groups of 4 and ask them to complete a report on the sheet.
