Teaching procedures :

Step1 Lead in

Before the lesson begins,you can ask students if they have any brochures from a tourist agency.

Step2 Reading strategy

Tell students that the passage they are going to read is a brochure about the first underground in the passage .after that ,read the text .

Step 3 : Fast reading .

Have students go through the passage as quickly as possible and try to find answers to the three questions in PartA .

Step4 ： Careful reading

Have students go through the passage again and complete Parts C1 and C2

Step 5 Topic sentence and main idea

After students finish the above exercises, have them divide the text into several parts and give the main idea for each part

Step6 homework

1 Have students do PartsA1 and A2 on page125 of Workbook to have more practice

2 Learn the new words and phrases by heart
