Teaching Procedure:

Revision and lead in

Use the “words dictation” tool of white board,to have a dictation and then sing a song “How’s the weather?”,then ask ss to speak out the sentences of last class.

【教学设计说明】1.通过听写单词让学生到黑板上书写,复习了天气单词。2.通过播放歌曲让学生也跟唱,将上节课时重点句型呈现,并引出本节课的新单词“hot”。3。充分达到热身目的,提高了学生的参与率。

Presentation

Show some pictures and design a temperature gauge and the tool of dictionary to teach the new words,

3. Drill

Have students get into pairs and play the game to drill the new words.

4. Work on 1a (完成1a)

(1) Have students look at 1a and match the words with the pictures.

5. Work on 1b (完成1b)

Have students get into pairs and ask and answer questions about the weather in 1a.

Design the game “Grab the red packets”,ask ss to choose one of packets and do pairwork with partner.

How’s the weather in …?

What’s the weather like in …?

sunny (and warm /hot ).

cloudy (and cool ).

It’s windy (and dry).

raining (and cool ).

snowing (and cold ).

5. Listening practice (听力练习)

(1)Work on 1c. Complete the chart. Design a knowledge matching to attract students to join the activity.

(2)Work on 1d. Listen again. Write the answers to “What are you doing?” and design interesting classification to answer “How’s the weather?”
