Thoughts on the design:
本节课的基本宗旨是Learn by doing“做中学”。首先通过一个公益广告的呈现，让学生通初步了解有关交通事故起因及后果。接着通过课文的深入学习，让学生知道更多如何避免交通事故的措施，为写作做准备。写作是小组合作完成的过程，组长明确每个成员的工作，教师提供适当的写作辅导，学生相互讨论并将自己认为独特的经验加入到写作中，最后各组由一名成员展示成果，教师稍加评点。
Teaching aims:
1. To help the students learn about the traffic accidents and road safety.
2. To encourage students to use what they have learnt in this part to write an action plan about how young people can protect themselves from traffic accidents.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead in
The teacher starts the lesson by presenting the students a short video and some pictures. The students are required to think the cause of the accident and. Then the topic of “preventing traffic accidents” is introduced.
【设计说明】教师在导入的时候先通过一个公益广告和一些图片让学生初步产生学习兴趣，为下一步的深入做好必要的铺垫。
Step 2 Reading
The students are required to read the passage and answer some questions . They are encouraged to find more causes of accidents.
【设计说明】通过阅读课文让学生熟悉引起交通事故的原因以及采取的措施。
Step 3 Writing an action plan
Planning
Divide students into groups of 4, assigning one of them group leader.
The leader assigns different jobs to each member.
Discussing
Discuss what students could do to help prevent traffic accidents. Encourage students to find new ideas.
Show students how certain sentence patterns to put these items into their action plan.
Writing
Give a brief guide how to arrange this action plan.
Write the action plan on the worksheet.
Presenting
One member of each group presents their action plan in class. Others make brief comments and choose which one is the best.
【设计说明】通过计划、讨论、写作、呈现这四个步骤完成这一环节。指导学生用课文材料中的素材用于写作，并鼓励学生根据自己的经验增加idea。指导学生如何将这些idea用于写作中，给一两个句式以帮助。接着对action plan作简单的结构介绍，并帮助学生搭好简单的框架，其余的由学生小组合作完成。从而提高他们的团队合作意识以及写作能力。
