Step 1 Lead-in
Show some pictures of traffic accidents and get students to know Traffic accidents cause many deaths and injuries every year, so we must learn how to protect ourselves from danger on the roads.
Step 2 Reading
Read the passage and answer some questions.
For what purpose is the notice written? Why?
What are some major causes of road accidents related to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians?
Read again and complete the following notes:

Step 3 Writing an action plan
Planning
Divide students into groups of 4, assigning one of them group leader.
The leader assigns different jobs to each member.
Brainstorming
Discuss what students could do to help prevent traffic accidents. Encourage students to find new ideas.
Show students how certain sentence patterns to put these items into their action plan.
Write down the items which can be included in the action plan.
Writing
Give a brief guide how to arrange this action plan. Give some expressions if needed.
Write the action plan on the worksheet.
Presenting
1） One member of each group presents their action plan in class.
2） Then share their action plans between groups.
