Teaching procedures:

Step one Pre-reading

Activity one picture presentation

Present the students a series of pictures about father’s love and get the students to express their feelings on the pictures.

Activity two Father’s day introduction and story sharing

Introduce the Father’s day to the students and invite them to talk freely about their father, meanwhile play a video clip made by the teachers’ own students’ introduction of their fathers to the students.

Step two While- reading

Activity one prediction of the title

Ask the students to take a look at the title, guide them to focus on the three key words: “dad”, “it”, “wrong” and guess what might be the content of the letter. The students shall be invited to think about the following questions:

What is the dad like?

What does “it” mean?

Where is wrong?

Why is he doing it wrong?

How can he do it better?
