Teaching procedures
Step 1: Lead in
A short video is shown to arouse students’ interest as well as to introduce the topic.

自制暖场视频中出现了30多本英文经典小说的封面，有些是学生熟悉的， 有些是学生比较陌生的。 学生在看的过程中不自觉地猜测书名，在放松的状态下形成有效注意，为创设良好的学习氛围创造了条件。
Small talk –“ share your favorite book and tell us why”
Interview some students randomly and encourage them to name a book they’ve already read or read a book they are going to read and explain the reason briefly.

联系学生的个人世界和主观体验，让学生对本课的经典阅读话题有一个心理上的准备。同时也可以让学生开启用英文思维并表达自己的模式。学生在此过程中的一些个性化表达不仅能活跃课堂氛围，也能为后面的阅读分析分享提前做好铺垫。

Students are instructed find as much information as possible to outline his life experiences, list his representative works and find out his attitude towards life.
