Part 2 Teaching aims
Knowledge aim: Make students know some descriptive words and expression to talk about a review, such as beautiful, superb, wonderful, excellent, amazing, touching, grand, splendid and so on. In addition, students can also learn the elements of a story: beginning, development, climax, and ending.
Ability aim: Students can develop their listening, speaking, reading abilities. Students can also train their cooperation ability and confidence.
Educational aim: Students can understand the differences between Chinese opera and Western opera. Meanwhile they could also have a broad knowledge of famous musicians, great composers and their works.

The most important skill is reading ability. I will give students some tasks and courage, some interesting pictures and teach them to use their skimming and scanning to find out some important information. Meanwhile I will use the multimedia and the handout to help their study.

In this step, I will invite my students to listen to Sara Brightman’s Scarborough Fair. It will activate their interests and my class could start in a happy way. To further improve their thinking system, I design a guessing game for them and the three riddles are from our opera.
