Step 1 Lead-in
Play a clip of video show about of sand painting about Mother’s Day and ask two questions:
There are five types of painting. Do you know what they are?
Match the picture with the types of painting.And then look at the brief introduction to each type of painting.
Questions:
1.Which of the painting above do you like best?
2.Do you know any of the world’s most famous painters?
Introduce Qi Baishi，Xu Beihong, Vicent van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci, Pablo Picasso and Monet and their masterpieces respectively.
Step 2 Reading strategy
Students look through the sentences above the passsages and fill in blanks:
This is an_______from________to his friend about the visit to some famous________.
Reading strategy: reading a travelogue.
Students read the reading travelogue and think about the questions:
What is travelogue?
What should we pay attention to?
Step 3 Listening and scanning for general idea
Play the tape for the students and ask students to finish the form following the travellogue.
