Teaching procedures:
Step1: Greetings
Greet the whole class as usual.

Step2: Lead-in
Guide the students to enjoy some interesting 3-D paintings and lead them to the learning of paintings.
Step 3: Part B (painting materials)
Before learning this part, I will ask the students to think about the following question:
What painting materials a painter may use?
Then teach the students some words about the paintings.
Watercolor, oil painting, canvas, acrylic paint, portrait, landscape, still life, palette, easel, paint brushes, pencils, oil paints
Ask the students to read these words three times.
Step 4: Part B (colors and shades)
1. Ask the students to do a comparison to let them know the importance of using colors in drawing;
2. Guide the students to review the colors they learnt in junior school and lead them to learn the shades of colors.
Step 5: Part A (types of paintings)
. Ask the students to read the article about types of painting in Part A and fill in the chart below.
