Step1 Lead-in

Let’s first enjoy a short video. (about the film series of Harry Potter)

What is the video about?

How much do you know about it?

Before we decide on which film to watch, what do we usually do to ensure it is a worthy choice? (refer to film reviews on the internet)

Step2 Read for structure

Take a quick look at the whole article, try to figure out the structure of it and the main idea for each part. (fill in the blanks with key words)

Part 1: (Para. 1-3) the brief introduction to the film

Part 2: (Para. 4-5) the advantages of the film

Part 3: (Para. 6-7) the drawbacks of the film

Part 4: (Para. 8) the recommendation by the writer

Conclude the structure of a film review and analyse the content for each part.

Read the first part of the article, and tell the names of characters shown in the pictures, and give a brief introduction to each character, describing the relationships among them.

Plot

According to the article, put the following sentences in the right order.

Pair work: Use connective expressions and add proper information to make up a complete story. (Ask different students take turns to put together the story)
