Write a film review following the structure and applying the techniques learnt
Analysis of Students:
Students are very interested in watching films and they have gathered much information about the topic film in the former classes of this unit, but the majority of them do not have the experience of writing a film review in English themselves.

Teaching Steps:
Step 1 Lead-in
What is a film review?
Step 2 Reading for structure
Ask students to go through the text, divide it into several parts and figure out the main idea of each part.
Step 3 Reading for writing techniques
Require the students to read the first part carefully and answer the following questions:
What do you think of the beginning sentences of this review: “What an amazing film! Who has not dreamt of finding out that he or she is really someone special and famous? That fantasy is reality for Harry Potter.” ?
What else could we write down in the lead to attract the readers?
What should we pay attention to when we introduce a film’s plot?
Require the students to read the second part carefully and think over the following question:
What else could we comment on besides the special effects and acting in the film?
Require the students to read the third part carefully and answer the following question:
How can we persuade the readers that the film is not so successful or really good?
Require the students to read the last part carefully and answer the following question:
How should we write down the closing part of a film review?
Step 4 Writing
Ask students to work in groups of five or six and write a review of the film Coco, which they have watched twice before.
Requirements:
Discuss the film Coco in your group and agree on a central view point and the main idea of each part of the review you are going to write
