Step I. Brainstorming

It’s an individual work. Ask students to express their opinions of different colours. Anything related to colors is welcomed, including things, feelings, significance, and so on.

Step II. What do different colors represent on national flags

It’s a group work.

Lead in the topic with the discussion of the national flag of China. Help students

understand the cultures of different colors and patterns.

Fast reading helps students find out the cultures of different colors on the three countries’

national flags.

Students will be divided into three groups and they can have a discussion, after which they

can reintroduce the three flags with the use of the words and sentence structures correctly.

Step III. More background information about the three flags

It’s an individual work.

Students can know more about the three flags by filling in the blanks. It’s a detailed reading.
