develop a positive attitude towards life and difficulties and be aware of and feel the vitality that idioms bring to English language.
学情分析：
本课分为两块内容，即national flowers和colour idioms，重点在colour idioms。关于英语习语在模块一的unit2和模块六的unit1、unit2和unit3中都已经提及过一些，如feel blue, down in the dumps, on cloud nine, as poor as a church mouse等，有些习语的来源是一些小故事，学生们很感兴趣，通过了解习语的背景知识，理解习语的意思，学生们也更容易掌握。因此在设计教学过程的时候，笔者注重挖掘习语背后的信息，增加课堂趣味性的设计，希望学生能够在相对放松愉快的环境下高效地掌握本节课的知识。
重点难点：
理解并记忆本课所学的英语习语的意思；
掌握本课所学的英语习语的用法，并能够正确地运用在语境中。
教学过程：
Step 1: Lead in:
Try to tell which country each flag belongs to. (呈现一些学生比较熟悉的一些国家的国旗)
设计意图：本课第一部分是national flowers， 因此导入部分选了一些学生相对比较熟悉的国家的国旗来导入，让他们看国旗猜测属于哪个国家，引出这个部分的话题national flowers的同时，也拓宽了学生的知识面。
Step 2: Be a good reader！ （National flowers）
Read part A on p38 and fill in the table. (国旗导入之后，用As well as having a national flag, many countries also have a national flower引出本课第一部分内容：national flowers。)

Task1: Read Part A on P39 and get the Chinese meaning of the colour idioms.

设计意图：用From this part, we can see that many countries in the world have national flags and national flowers with different colours. We also have colour idioms because the world is full of various colours.引出colour idioms话题。通过自主阅读A部分的句子来推断句子中的习语的意思，然后通过B部分的练习来对这几个习语加以巩固。
Step 4: Be a good thinker！
Task 3: Guess the meaning of the colour idioms.
(1) It was really a red-letter day when I met my idol and got her to sign her name on my shirt.

(3) Mrs. Smith has the best gardens in my town and she really has green fingers.
(4) He spent 30,000 yuan on a painting, but it turned out to be a false one, so it is now actually a white elephant for him.
