Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Lead-in
Watch a video: English in a minute.
Have students pay attention to the idiom mentioned in the video and its meaning.
Step 2. Reading comprehension
a) Check the preview assignment: the structure of the text.
b) Analyze the structure of the passage and finish some exercises.
c) Find out the biblical idioms in the passage and apply them to practice.
Step 3. Meaning guessing
Guess the meaning of the underlined idioms according to the context.
Step 4. Consolidation
a) Have students do some exercises about idioms in the examinations.
b) Learn the idioms mentioned together.
Step 5. Group work
Have students do the program of English in a minute using the idioms acquired in the class.
