2) Understand the six biblical idioms in the text and the two added-tower of Babel, thirty pieces of silver & a coat of many colors;
3) use the idioms in new situations and write a letter sharing the newly-learnt English idioms and one Chinese idiom with an American teacher.
Process&Method: After this period, students will be able to:
1) develop the awareness of being an active reader, a fast reader, a careful reader, a critical reader and a productive reader;
2) know how to identify the style and structure of the an article quickly;
3) share and represent their unique ideas about idioms in group and in class.
Emotion,Attitude&Value: After this period, students will be able to:
1) form the open-minded attitude towards other cultures and respect different cultures;
2) realize the importance of learning culture when learning a foreign language;
3) appreciate the diversity and enjoy the beauty of language from different cultures.
Analysis of learning situation:
1)Students are from Grade One, facing a challenge from the material Module9 Unit4 for Grade Three;
2)Students have developed the ability of self-teaching, so they can preview new vocabulary and have a rough look before class;
3)Students have built some confidence in expressing their own ideas, so learning activities can move on smoothly if designed properly.
Focuses and difficulties:
1) How to understand the idioms correctly and use them properly;
2) How to realize the importance of idioms and learn to be a critical and productive reader.
Teaching procedures:
Step1: Lead-in
A picture of Obama swearing when taking office, introducing the subject of The Bible.

Step2: Warming-up
Talking about The Bible, offering some necessary background;
Talking about the influence of The Bible, like the influence in politics, daily life, literature, arts, ideas and language.
