模块十 Module X Understanding society《Reading(1)：Population movement in the USA》优质课教案下载

本节课是阅读课，主要是让学生通过对文章的阅读，对美国的人口迁移有所了解，通过任务型阅读这一新的考察形式检查学生对于文章内容的理解；让学生通过讨论的形式，加深对文章的的理解，并且可以为学生提供练习口语的机会。

Teaching aims:

Know something about the movement in the USA.

Try to improve students’ reading ability.

Teaching difficult and important points:

1. To get some idea of the trends of the population movement in the USA and the reasons.

2. To try to write a summary of the article by using what they have learned.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1. Greetings

Greet the whole class as usual.

Step 2. Revision

Check the homework.

Step3 . Lead-in

Students look at the pictures and answer the question related to it for the purpose of introducing the topic and arouse students' interest.

【设计说明】教师通过presentation这一形式，一来检查了学生作业的完成情况，二来可以为文章的导入做好准备。

Step 4. Fast reading

Ask students to skim through the article as quickly as possible to try to find answers to the questions without reading it thoroughly.

1. What is the topic of the article?

2. What is the name of the magazine?

3. What two groups are discussed in the article?
