When you apply for a job, what aspects will be included in the covering letter?

【设计说明】这一教学设计属于教学导入。学生在上一堂课上已经从Skills building 1中了解了一个工作招聘广告所包含的基本要素,结合生活实际,学生不难推断出一封求职信应该包含的基本方面,如求职者的qualifications、studying experiences、working experiences、achievements、skills和ability等,从而为后续的写作教学搭好支架。

Step2: Reading

Read the example of a covering letter and underline all the examples of the applicant’s qualifications, experience, skill and personal qualities.

Retell these sentences to partners.

【设计说明】为了让学生对求职信有一个直观的、具体的、清楚的认识,在前一个教学步骤的基础上,教师让学生仔细阅读一封求职信,具体分析这一求职信中所提到的求职者的qualifications, experience, skill和personal qualities,并通过向同伴复述的形式达到输入、巩固的目的,为最后的教学目标——写一封求职信继续搭建教学支架。
