Step 1: Greeting and warm up
Greet with students and talk about weather.
Step 2: Lead in
1.Enjoy a video about Carol’s school trip,and find out what did she do during the trip and review the verb phrases in past tense.
2.Review the rules of past tense for verbs.
3.Introduce my friend Eric, and lead students to know about his trip.
Step 3. Presentation
1.Ss read and listen to the conversation then find the answer for the following questions:
1) Where did Eric go?
2) How was the weather there?
3) What did he do?
4) What did he do at night?
2. Check answers one by one, lead student to answer the questions correctly.
3. Listen to the tape , and read after it.
Step 3 Practice
1. Student read the conversation loudly by their own.
2. Student read together. Teacher give comments and correct the pronunciation of some words.
Step 4. Pairwork
Students work in pairs to practice the conversation.
Step 5. Role- play
Students role-play the conversation in pairs in front of the class, teacher give comments and encouragement.
Step 6. Consolidation
1.Write down and explain the language points of this period, students take notes.
