1:Lead-in
Ask students who are their heroes and why
Show some pictures about heroes , ask the students to say the name of each hero
Ask the students to use one word to describe this kind of person.
Answer: they are both heroes
Ask the students to use one adjective to summarize some sharing characteristics of heroes.
Write those adjective on the blackboard
Show the picture of Yang Liwei and ask the students to say the name of him
Show some basic information about Yang
and ask:”could you find some big differences between Yang and us just according to the information here?”
Answer: No
Then ask the student to think about the question: what makes Yang a hero?
Answer: space travel
Say: Do you want to know more about the space travel of Yang?
2:Pre-reading
Activity1: Show some pictures of relevant words related to spaceship: launch .Parachute ,separate…from, astronaut, flight, helicopter.
Ask students to match the words with their pictures.
Activity2: Go over the picture again and ask students to say the words from their memory
