Teaching Procedure
Step1. Warming up
(1) Guessing
T draw a bride on the blackboard, and asks Ss to tell some words related to wedding.
(2)Discussion
T will ask the following questions about weddings to lead into the topic. Ss have to talk about these questions in groups of four.
?Have you ever been to a wedding party? Who got married?
?Did you have a wonderful time?
?Do you think wedding customs are the same all over the world?
(3)Short video
After the discussion, T plays a short video about different wedding customs in different countries in order to arouse students’ learning interest.
Step2. Learning the new words
Present Ss some pictures for them to learn these new words: bride, bridegroom, bridesmaid, bestman, wedding invitation, entrance, ceremony, wedding reception. Then asks Ss to do the exercise, word matching.
