Teaching process：
Step one:Lead-in (2 minutes)
The teacher uses a lovely song about Christmas to start the lesson so as to activate the students and to direct to the new lesson.
Step two: Pre - readi ng ( 5minutes)
Brainstorming: The teacher asks the students a question: what do you know about Christmas ? By doing so, the teacher tries to make the students familiar with the words in the reading and activate their schema, connecting their former English knowledge and the new knowledge.
Then the teacher tries to know the new words in the reading by showing the word-bank exercise.
Step three: while - readi ng(25 minutes)
Task A: skim the text
The teacher asks the students to read and find the time in each paragraph so that the students will get an idea of how the text develops.
Task B: find the order of the things with Christmas.
In what order did the children do these things?
open the new year calendar
put their stockings at the end of the bed
sing Christmas carols
write a letter to Father Christmas
put up the Christmas tree
