Teaching Procedures
Step1. Lead in
Show the writing process to the whole class to get them ready for the new lesson today.
Modelled writing (mini lesson before this class)
Shared writing&Guided writing ( new lesson in this class)
Independent writing ( assignment after this class)
Check the preview worksheet of the students and deal with the problems puzzling the students.
Step2. Guided reading and conclusion
Guide the students to draw a conclusion of the Purposes and Features of describing an event.
Purpose: to describe the characteristics of events
Specific features:
usually written in past tense
organised into categories (beginning, development, ending)
descriptive vocabulary
part of a narrative(when, who, where, why, how)
