Teaching Steps
Step 1. Lead- in and pre- reading
1) Use pictures and maps to arouse their interest.
2) This part is also an input of some important tourist attractions to students.
Step 2. While reading (Q & A; competition)
1) Divide the passage into 4 parts and design several questions for each part. Students can understand the whole passage by answering these questions in a competitive way.
2) The group that gets the most scores has the right to choose the topic they want to work on in the next step; they will be offered some tools for their performance based on their choice.
Step 3. Post- reading(Students’ performance)
Each group can perform their dialogue in a creative way, trying to use what we have learned to strengthen the output.
Step 4. Conclusion
Students work it out together.
Step 5. Homework
Write a brief introduction to Australia.
