The students have learnt some basic knowledge about different art forms in the former three periods, which lays a good foundation for this topic and language output. But for students’ basic abilities, students still need many opportunities to practice what they have learnt, to express their ideas, feelings and to develop their autonomous learning and cooperative learning ability. Besides, the students are of different levels, so I use different teaching methods to help them learn the text and encourage them to take part in the learning activities.
III. Teaching objectives
1. Knowledge aim:
(1)To make the students review the new words and expressions related to music and dancing.
(2)To make students learn about different types of dances.
(3)To help the student to fully understand the text and be able to tell the differences between them.
2.Ability aim
(1)To practise reading a text quickly to get a general idea and learn to get detailed information.
(2)To instruct students to complete the gaps by using reading strategy: making contextual connections.
(3)To train students’ oral English and develop students’ cooperative learning ability.
3.Emotion, attitude and value
(1)To let students have a love for dance and life.
(2)To cultivate the students' cross-cultural communication awareness and deepen the understanding of Chinese and foreign dance art.
