Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Greetings
Step 2. Warm -up
Give the students five kinds Chinese arts ( painting, paper cut, calligraphy, china and knitting) and ask them:
Which kind of Chinese art do you like?
Step 3. Lead-in
Painting is one of Chinese arts and it is popular with Chinese people.There are many famous painters and paintings in China.Ask them to look at the pictures on Page 36 and match them.
Step 4. Reading
1. Read the text and answer five questions .
2. Read the text again and observe the pictures.Then answer:
What characters do these pictures have?( With the words and the sentences in the text)
3.Give the students some paintings and ask :
Who drew it,Qi Baishi, Xu Beihong,or Chen Yifei?
Then give some paintings to them and let them to appreciate them.
Step 5. Language points
Pay attention to some important words and phrases.
