how to sequence a story
Teaching procedure:
I. warm up
show students two film posters to increase their interest in the sea stories.
look at some words and try to find them in the pictures
Question: how to put the three paragraph in the right order?
II. Reading
Step 1. pre-reading
Find the key words in the pictures, and then look at the pictures in the book and decide which is the beginning, middle and end of the story.
Step2. Careful reading
Sequence the story.
Group work: find out all the linking words and expressions related to storytelling and their corresponding verbs.
Find the answers to the specific questions and get the general plot of of the story.
Step3. Exercise
Do some multiple choices exercises to check whether students have really understand the story. Then students fill in the blanks to summarize the whole story.
Step 4: Grammar exercise
students can know how to change a verb into an adjective or a noun.
IV. Homework：
Retell the sea story with the help of your notes and try to find the important phrases in this passage. .
