Lead—in : give students a short passage about the main idea of Lesson 3 and students fill in the blanks with the right relative words. The purpose of this part is to go over the relative pronouns and relative adverbs.
Presentation:
1) Remind students to pay attention to the sentence patterns and use some pictures to show when they should use a defining and non-defining clauses. Help students tell the difference between defining and non-defining relative clauses.
2 ) Students find the relative clause in Lesson 3 and decide whether they are defining or non-defining relative clauses, then translate them into Chinese.
3) Show students a mini video to tell them in what situations non-defining relatives clauses are used.
3. Practice
1) Picture-talk: students are given some pictures and words, and they need to apply non-defining relative clauses to talk about them.
2) Writing: students will be give a writing task and they are requried to write some sentences with proper relative clauses. At the end of the class, some example from the students will be presented.
V. Assignment
