Students are appreciated and encouraged to play their roles in the reading activities through summarizing the passage, designing their posters after furthering thinking, and presenting their ideas within a teamwork. As a result, this students-centered class gave them an opportunity to explore the passage through drawing a comparison and contrast of Jason’s material and mental life between the past and now and further thinking about the future of Jason and the reason why Jason made the significant choice. Meanwhile, they also learned a proper attitude toward money and success through their deep-reading and critical-thinking.
