Ⅰ. Warming up
Teacher shows some pictures and asks some questions to lead students to discuss the problem of price and bargain. (The purpose of the exercise is to introduce the topic.)
1.What are they? And how much do they cost?
2. Which things can you bargain for in China?
3. Where can you bargain?
4. Do you often bargain when you go shopping?
Ⅱ. Listening
Pre-listening
T: Do you know these words connected with bargain?
T asks Ss to read the story and guess the meaning of the new words.
Task1: Match the words with the definitions. (Page10 Ex. 1 )
Task2: Read the questions in exercise 4 and predict the answers.
(T elicits the meaning of groceries, scarf from Ss)
2. While-listening
Part1:
Task1: T plays the tape and Ss check their predictions. (Ex. 4)
Task2: T reads the listening strategies with Ss before listening
Group work : Ss listen to the tape again and fill in the table.

(If Ss have difficulty , T plays the tape again and asks Ss to pay attention to what they missed.)
