Step1. Pre-writing
T: Today we will talk about school trips, and learn how to write a diary.
T: First, I want to tell you about my last school trip. Can you guess what I did and where I went and some other questions.(Show some pictures and sounds, and students answer the questions.)
What do you think of my school trip?
T: I wrote a diary about my trip, but some of the words are missing, can you write out the missing words?
T: Read the passage for 1 minute and find out: What can we write in a diary?(Student sum up the key points.)
Group-work: In a group, each student write one point in a diary, and then this group can make up a whole diary.
①Students do the group-work.
②Students act them out.
T: Q:Why S1 read first and S5 read last?
(Students think about it and summarize the order of a diary.)
Step2. While-writing
T: I really want to know about your school trip. Did you go on a school trip? What did you do? Where did you go? How was the weather? Talk about your school trip with your partner.
Teacher and students have a free talk about the trips.
It’s time to write now. Maybe I can help you a little.
①What do we need to write at first/at last?
②What do we also need to write?
③Pay attention to the Past Tense Verbs.
A student write on the blackboard and other students write the paper.
Talk about the diary on the blackboard.
Check the diary: ①Is there a beginning?
②Is there an ending?
③Did she use the past tense verbs?
④Are there any spelling mistakes?
⑤Are there any grammatical mistakes?
Step3. Post-writing
Read your partner’s diary and check.
