Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Greetings and organizations
1. Greet the class as usual
2. Show a video to help them relax and lead in the topic
Step 2 Self-observation
1. Students read the example letter and find out the outline of an application letter.
2. Give them ten seconds to memorize the outline.
Step 3 Self-practice
1. Present the writing task and help students to analyze the demands of the job.
2. Ask the students to recall the outline we summarized just now.
3. Show them the writing of paragraph1 to give them an example. Then divide the students into two groups and play a relay game of translating. (Group one put forward a sentence in Chinese, group two translates it into English. Then exchange.) Sentence patterns will be given to lower the difficulty.
4. Show some linking words to help them polish their writing.
Step 4 Self-consolidation
1. Students are required to finish the writing individually. Each group choose one student to write on the blackboard.
2. Peer correcting. (Group members can help to correct the writings.)
Step 5 Self-assessment
Enjoy the application letters together, pick out the better one and give a fair assessment according to the assessment criteria..
Step 6 Summary and homework
1. Summarize the writing steps we learn today and give them a suggestion: practice makes perfect!
