Ⅰ. Warming up
1. Students watch the video introducing the historical sites in Greece and then students are encouraged to talk about some famous stuff they know about Greece.
2. Topic will be directed to discuss the great painting “ the School of Athens” and the teacher and students share what the painting tries to convey.
3. As a joke, suppose students were the the person in the stutue “Thinker”, what would be wondering in their minds?
4. At the end of Warming-up, we come to the point that ling-long learning is a serous issue we should take seriously.
Ⅱ Fast-reading
Students, in two minutes, skip the texts and name out the the character in each text and summrize the main purpose the writer tries to convey.
They have choices:
A. Young men should study hard to improve themselves.
B. We should learn from each other and help each other.
C. Three people’s learning experience told us the importance of life-long learning.
D. How did the three people achieve their success?
Ⅲ Careful Reading
Students read through the three texts respectively.
