Step 1 Greeting and lead-in
Show students some pictures about life-long learning. Picture 1 is about some babies studying in the kindergarten. Picture 2 is about some teenagers studying in a high school. Picture 3 is about some adults studying in the classroom. Picture 4 is about some old persons studying before computers.
T: Good morning, boys and girls.
S:
T: As a student, who can tell us what the main task will you do?
S:
T: Yes, the answer is “study” “to learn some knowledge”. Next, please look at some pictures and figure out what they are doing? (show students pictures)
S:
T: Let’s look at the pictures together. Picture 1 is about some babies studying in the kindergarten. So lovely they are, right? Picture 2 is about some teenagers studying in a high school. Just like you, they are listening to their teachers. Picture 3 is about some adults studying in the classroom. Maybe, we can call them aunts or uncles, right? Picture 4 is about some grandparents studying before computers. They are so diligent! So, from these 4 pictures, what can we conclude?
S:
T: People of all ages are in learning. That’s life-long learning. For most people, learning is something they should do all their life. It’s important to continue studies after formal education. You will find many ways for post-education, as long as you would like to go on with studies.
And now, let’s come to “Life-long learning”.
