Ⅱ Analysis of the Teaching Material
1 The topic of this unit is Learning, which mainly includes four lessons: Life-long Learning, Different Schools, Teachers and Understanding, telling us the importance and necessity of learning. In this case, this unit can help students to form the awareness of learning and cultivate the ability to think critically.
2. The lesson Teachers is the third lesson of this unit, and this is the first period of this lesson, for which we put emphasis on reading. The lesson is composed of two passages, telling about my teacher and my student, which is helpful for students to have an idea of the significance of teachers in their life and know how to respect their teachers.
III. Analysis of characteristics of the learners
1. Students in Senior 2 at this time have already learned more than four modules in the previous learning, which make students mostly get used to the study and life of the senior high school. They are cheerful, curious, enthusiastic and active in class.
2. Students have already learned lesson 1 and lesson 2 in this unit. It is easy for them to accept the knowledge and take part in the activities actively. However, there are still some difficulties for them in expressing and thinking in English naturally.
3. Lesson 3 in this unit is closely related to student’s life---teacher and student. Thus, students can easily understand the reading material and will find it interesting.

1. Target language:
After the lesson, students will be able to:

2) Train the students’ ability of analyzing information, organizing information and thinking in English.
3. Affective objectives
1). Encourage students to co-operate with each other and participate in the class activities actively in order to develop students’ sense of cooperative learning and initial learning.
2). Help students know the importance of confidence and interest.
3) Help students understand the importance of teachers and respect their teachers.
