Step 1 Lead in (4 mins)
1)Show students several pictures of King Arthur, Sir Gawain and Round Table as well as some brief introduction in case some students know little about the background knowledge. And then show them some unfamiliar words to them.
2) Show them a picture including the four main characters and let students guess what they are.
Step 2 Skimming (5mins)
Read and listen to the story. Order the sentences below.
The Green Knight didn’t cut off Sir Gawain’s head.
Gawain went back to Camelot, but he was unhappy.
Sir Gawain and the lord agreed to exchange everything they received.
Sir Gawain cut off the Green Knight’s head.
Ten months later, Gawain went to look for the Green Knight.
When King Arthur was celebrating Christmas, a strange knight arrived.
