1.Greet all the students.
2.Review the words and expressions.
Purpose: Lead students to be more polite to others and have a good grasp of the key words and expressions.
Step 2 lead-in
1.Show students some useful information about Pompeii, using a video to show them the stories of Pompeii, from its rising to the end; besides, they will also have a basic knowledge about the disaster causing the end of the place.
2.Show students several pictures about the city of Pompeii, and give them a brief introduction of the city.
3.Make a guess about what happened in Pompeii.
Purpose: Have a brief view of the topic and use necessary information to help them understand the importance of historical records.
Step 3 Reading
1.Skimming for general ideas:
Match the main ideas with the paragraphs.
