Step1 Greetings
Greet the whole class as usual.
Step2 Lead-in
Show some photos of famous comedians and have a free talk with students to lead the topic in. Meanwhile, teach students some key words and expressions appearing in this period.
Step3 While-reading
Skimming: Read the text fast and match the headings with each paragraph (on the screen).
2. Careful Reading
(1)Read Para.1 carefully and replace the underlined parts with the words in the text.
Mr. Bean is known ①world-wide as a comedian. With a series of simple yet funny acts, he amuses people② no matter what their nationalities or cultures are. In the comedies he played, Mr. Bean frequently gets into ③ridiculous and awkward situations. That is how he makes audience amused but he ④only uses body language which is universal.
