学情分析:
High school students are rarely exposed to English poems, and the wording of a poem is sometimes different from what they are learning, which may cause their reluctance to read and analyze poems. Therefore, how to raise their interest in poetry is extremely important. Beautiful things are well accepted by most people, thus guiding students to understand and feel the beauty of poetry is the key to this lesson.
重点难点:
1. Understand the main idea and the tone of the two poems.
2. Appreciate the sound and visual beauty of the poems.
教学过程:
Step1. Lead-in
Use a song to raise students’ interest and lead to the topic of this lesson.
Step2. Pre-reading
Guide students to predict the tone of the two poems by presenting some words from the poems.
Step3. While-reading
General idea
Students read the two poems and choose main ideas.
Appreciation:rhymes and images
Section1: rhymes
Students read poem A and pay attention to the last word of each line, and figure out the regularity of their sounds.
Students find more rhyming words in poem B by themselves. ( task1 )
After listening to the recording of the two poems, students read poems freely. Then students have a poem-reading competition and the one who get the loudest applause wins. ( task 2 )
Students listen to a children’s song “twinkle, twinkle, little star” and fill in the blanks. ( task 3 )
Section2: images
Teacher presents a Chinese poem to students, and guides students to understand image and its function.
Students try to find images in poem A and poem B. ( task 1 )
Students work in groups of four and compete to create their own images. ( task 2 )
Step4. Sum-up
Four ways to appreciate poetry: general idea, tone, rhyme and image.
