北师大2003课标版《Lesson 3 Poetry》公开课教案优质课下载
The students are Senior 2 students.They are familiar with Chinese poetry,but they know little about English poetry.So they must be motivated to learn something about poetry and try to enjoy the beauty.
In this lesson,students will learn the English version of a Chinese famous poem,which is known to almost every Chinese.The other is an original English poem.They will learn to appreciate the two poems and compare them in different ways.
Important and difficult points
How to know the rhymes and images of the poems.And the feelings that the poets want to convey.
Teaching process
Step1
Warm up
Introduce the teaching and learning objects to students.Ask students to share a poem they have learned with us.Since students have a good command of Chinese ancient poetry,ask some student to translate some English version of Chinese famous poetry.Then ask students to think about two questions:What’s poetry?How do we appreciate poetry?According the answers ,we can enjoy a little English poem.

Pre-reading
Preview some of the new words.

First -reading
Listen to the recording and underline the words used to describe the beauty of the moon and the appearance of the Santa Clause

Second-reading
Read the poem A,paying attention to its’ rhymes and rhyming pattern.Try to understand the feeling conveyed by the poet.
Read the poem A and fill in the chart.The chart talks about the main idea,the style,the lines and rhyming pattern,and the feelings.We will talk about images and description as well.
Read the poem B.Students finish the same tasks as poem A.
Step5
Post-reading
Compare the two poems.There are some differences and similarities between them.Students have a discussion with their partners.Then ask some students to give a report.
Step 6
Appreciate an English poem by Yeats-----WHEN YOU ARE OLD.Since the time is limited,we only enjoy one stanza of the poem.Ask students to translate it into Chinese.Then ask two students to read them out both in English and Chinese to the music.
