By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to:

(1).Understand what is body language.

(2). Talk about some forms of body language and their meanings.

(3). Use the reading strategies to choose a heading for each paragraph.

6. The “i+1” in this lesson:

(1) i: students have learned something about language in last two previous lesson, this lesson also talks about language, but body language. In daily life, students have access to some kinds of body language from time to time; that is to say, students have known something related to this topic.

(2) “1” After this lesson, students will know clearly what body language is.

7. Anticipated problems and solutions:

Anticipated problemssolutionsThe class schedule is too full for a 40 minutes class.The pre-reading part activities could be shortened. Students may not know how to analyze the structure of the whole text..Teacher will help Ss divide the whole text into four part . And also ask them to find out some detailed information about each part.8. Teaching procedures:

Step 1-pre-reading 1. Present the objectives

To arouse Ss’ interest and introduce the topic.

.2. Show some pictures about different body language to Ss and make Ss clear that what body language consist of.

Step2- while-reading

Show some reading strategies to Ss.

To help Ss understand the whole text, so as to make sure that they can do better in the next part. Read the text and use the strategies to choose a heading for each paragraph.While checking the answers, ask Ss to give the topic sentences. Ask Ss to analyze and divide the text in to four parts and find out some detailed information to fill in the blanks.

Step3 post-reading 1. Group work:

(1).Work in a group of four and collect as much information as possible about body language.

(2).The group leader needs to make notes of the discussion.

(3).At last, share your topic with the whole class.

To make sure that they have a better understanding of the text and cultivate Ss’ abilities of finding specific information to express themselves.

Step 4 summary and homework.Make a summary about what we learn from the passage.
