种不可能获得的结果。条件句中的 虚拟语气 根据不同的时间有三种不同的形式。
时间 if从句谓语形式 主句谓语形式
将来动词过去式(be用were)
should + 动词原形
were to + 动词原形would / should / might / could + 动词原形现在动词过去式(be用 were)would / should / might / could + 动词原形过去had +动词过去分词would / should / might / could have + 动
词过去分词1) If I won the lottery now, I would buy an expensive car. 与现在事实相反
2) If he had hurried, he could have caught the train. 与过去事实相反
3) If I were to go abroad , I would go to America. 与将来事实相
省略if 的虚拟条件句当 虚拟条件句 的谓语动词含有were, should, had时，
if可省略，而将were, should, had等词置于句首。如：
1) If I were to meet him tomorrow, I should ask him about it.
Were I to meet him tomorrow,…
2) If he should fail in the experiment this time, he would try again.
Should he fail in the experiment…
3) If I had followed your advice, I wouldn't have made such foolish mistakes.
Had I followed your advice,…
3. 错综时间虚拟条件句
有时条件从句和主句所表示的动作在时间上可以不一致（例如一个与过去事实相反，一个与现在事实相反），这种时间句就称为错综时间虚拟条件句。在这种条件句中，动词的形式要根据具体的情况进行调整。
1) If it had rained last night, it would be very cold now.
2) If you had told me about it, I would know what to do now.
4. 含蓄条件句指句中没有明显的虚拟条件句，而是利用其它手段来暗示存在的虚拟条件，如but for, with, without, otherwise, but, or等。
1. But for your help, we couldn’t have finished the work.=
If it had not been for your help,……
2. I might have given your more help, but I was too busy.
3. I was ill that day. Otherwise, I would have taken part in the meeting.
