本课是本板块的第一部分，阅读部分。活动设计共有三个：Activity 1是Pre-reading activity, 目的是通过照片、文章题目鼓励学生来猜测文章内容，激活学生的背景知识，提高阅读理解能力。Activity 2是Post reading activity，回应Activity 1。可以要求学生快速阅读，。Activity 3是课后讨论，促使学生熟悉课文内容，了解消费型社会，把握作者的观点，形成自己的观点，促进学生关心社会问题，思考社会问题，为建立和谐社会出谋划策，尽自己所能。

21 Lead in旨在激发学生的兴趣，以对社会问题探讨导入，进而使学生思考社会问题，关注社会。Consumer Society是本单元的关键模块，而Spend, spend, spend是本板块的主打课文，承载本单元的重点语法现象。教学中运用各种活动，充分调动学生的注意力和兴趣，有效实施教学计划。

学情分析

7班是文科班，英语水平一般，同时女生多男生少，课堂较不活跃，因此调动课堂气氛，激起学生兴趣十分重要。另外本节课阅读主题切合学生实际生活，学生们大多有一定感受，想表达又囿于理解能力和表达能力，因此宜降低问题设置难度，层层推进，让学生循序渐进，不断深入，最终能敢于表达能够表达。
