1. Improve the students' reading ability to spot specific information quickly.

1. How to improve the students' reading ability to spot specific information quickly.

2. How to cast light on cultural differences.

Task-based approach (which makes it easy for the students to learn from various activities.)

Step 1 Lead-in

1. Ask the students the following as warm-up questions: Do you have some reading difficulties when you are reading English articles?

2.Analyse a piece of Chinese article to raise today's topic.

Step 2 Analysing different reading materials

1. Ask the students to classify the reading materials into four categories.

2. Introduce four question types. Ask the students to divide the question into four types and summarize the general idea of each part.

Step 3 Intensive reading

1.Ask the students to listen and look for some specific information of the text according to passage A. And introduce tips for details
